| "The subject is
Prince Merab, or Merhat, a son of King Khufu, the builder of the Great
Pyramid. This plate represents Prince Merab surrounded by his kinsfolk,
standing, with his staff in his right hand and the sceptre in the left.
The tomb of Merab was discovered by the celebrated German Egyptologist
Lepsius. The painted walls were taken to pieces and transported to
Berlin, where they were deposited in one of the chambers of the New
Museum." -Samuel Binion |
